Using a preposition with a Noun or Gerund
Gerund অর্থ হল (V+ing), Gerund এর পূর্বে Preposition বসিয়ে Joining করার জন্য বেশ কিছু Preposition [For, in spite of, on, besides, before, by, without, with, because of, on account of, due to and so on.] এর অর্থ জানতে হবে।
বাক্যগুলো পড়ে বুঝতে হবে কোন বাক্যের “Verb” কে “Gerund” তৈরি করতে হবে।
# She needs money. She will set up a nursing home.
She needs money for setting up a nursing home. Or For setting up a nursing home she needs money.উদাহরণটিতে ভালো করে লক্ষ্য করো। দ্বিতীয় বাক্যের Verb এর সাথে “Ing” ব্যবহার করে Gerund করা হয়েছে। এবং উপযুক্ত Preposition ব্যবহার করা হয়েছে।

# He worked hard. Still he did not succeed.
In spite of his hard working, he did not succeed.# His friend died. He heard the news. He wept bitterly.
On hearing the news of his friend’s death, he wept bitterly.# He is a teacher. He is a social worker.
Besides being a teacher, he is a social worker.# The sun set. Our task is not completed.
The set before completing our task.# Notes were compared. A remarkable similarity was noticed.
By comparing notes, a remarkable similarity was notice.
# He worked very hard. He did not sleep.
He worked very hard without sleeping.
Noun এর পূর্বে Preposition বসিয়ে Joining করার জন্য
বাক্যগুলো পড়ে বুঝতে হবে কোন বাক্যের “Verb/ Adjective” কে “Noun” তৈরি করা যাবে তারপর সেই “Verb/ Adjective” কে “Noun” বানিয়ে তার পূর্বে উপযুক্ত Preposition বসাতে হবে।
# The sun set. Our task was no completed.
The sun set before completion our task.উদাহরণটিতে দেখ যে দ্বিতীয় বাক্যের ক্রিয়াকে নাউন করা হয়েছে আর তার পূর্বে প্রিপজিশন বসানো হয়েছে।

# He was ill. He could not attend the class.
He could not attend the class because of his illness.
# I work hard. I did not sleep.
I work hard without any sleep.
# He was ill. He was high fever.
He was ill with high fever.
